Pedestrian-Involved Traffic Accidents in L.A.
Nearly 25% of pedestrian-involved traffic accidents in L.A. occur in less than 1% of the city’s intersections, according to an analysis by The Los Angeles Times. In the city of L.A., 579 intersections accounted for almost 23% of the city’s total pedestrian accidents, while 817 intersections accounted for more than 15% of L.A. County’s pedestrian-involved accidents.
Auto accidents are always scary, but even more so when a pedestrian is involved. A pedestrian typically doesn’t fare well in an accident with any sort of motor vehicle. Catastrophic injuries are not uncommon, even when a pedestrian is hit by a slow-moving car.
