Walker Advertising is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Executive to develop client relationships and implement growth opportunities, primarily in new markets. The ideal candidate would have a solid track record of driving new sales, growing existing relationships, and creating long-term value for organizations by leveraging data and capitalizing on business trends and opportunities. We’re looking for a professional that is customer-obsessed and able to shape and articulate the company’s value propositions in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Candidates should have strong communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to navigate a diverse and evolving industry landscape. Successful applicants should also be willing to travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying new sales opportunities
  • Pitching lead generation
  • Maintaining fruitful relationships with both new & existing customers
  • Researching law firms to identify new clients
  • Researching & understanding competition
  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and set up meetings
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Work with senior team members to identify and manage risks
  • Preparing sales presentations, quotes & proposals
  • Contacting clients to educate them around profitability and retention
  • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person
  • Developing sales goals and ensuring they are met
  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills in alignment with growth
  • Fostering a collaborative environment within the organization

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A strong communicator
  • Possess the ability to solve, recognize and articulate solutions to tough problems

  • Excellent at time management and organization
  • Understanding the inner workings of a law firm a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of the legal industry and its current events a plus
  • Marketing background a plus
  • Financial or insurance sales a plus

To keep healthy relationships with clients, this mostly requires socialization. So, from simple chats on the phone to lunches and events or conferences, business development managers must be sure to keep their customers happy. Of course, documentation is also a big part of the work. Business development professionals are also obligated to write reports and provide feedback to upper management about what is and is not working.

Business Development Working Environment

This role will be both an in-office and remote position. Because networking is critical in this position, business development managers must often travel to conferences, business meetings, and industry events. Therefore, they are expected to work according to their own initiative while reporting directly to the V.P. of Sales & Business Development. If they can deliver against their goals by bringing in new clients and maximizing profitability on sales consistently, their day-to-day methods and schedules will be left largely up to them.
