Advertising Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with state by state Rules of Professional Conduct as it relates to attorney advertising; formulate solutions to any identified problem areas exposing company to risk
  • Stay current with changes in regulatory and compliance issues in key states to bring proactive advice to Walker Advertising
  • Advise and provide review of National and regional marketing and advertising campaigns, strategy, copy, and content from conception through to execution, ensuring advertising claim substantiation, and providing legal and regulatory compliance risk assessments; Propose creative solutions to help advance business objectives
  • Provide review and counsel on all brand communications and advertising materials including, but not limited to, television advertising, print, digital/social media, press releases, website content, case studies, blogs, videos, sales decks, and presentations
  • Maintain general overall knowledge of approved advertising claims, consumer quotes and plaintiff awards and their expiration dates
  • Research, analyze, and apply relevant statutes and case law to advertising campaigns and marketing strategies
  • Coordinate response to state and federal agencies on inquiries, requests for data, or comments on advertising related matters
  • Protect the Company’s trademarks and intellectual property by appropriate means

Communication & Privacy Compliance

  • Ensure our consumer communication is compliant with TCPA and CAN-SPAM and any other applicable laws
  • Stay informed and up to date on state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws
  • Ensure our company’s terms of use, privacy and related terms and policies reflect best practices and are always consistent with the company’s values and operations

Contract & Other

  • Build and cultivate successful relationships and work with cross-functional teams in the organization and with external parties, as appropriate
  • Advise and consult with all levels of the organization to identify legal issues, assess potential legal options, and provide an analysis and range of possible legal solutions
  • Draft, review, negotiate and interpret contracts and other documentation
  • Coordinate with outside counsel as necessary
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned


  • JD from accredited law school, strong academic background
  • Bar membership in CA, TX or FL. Must be active & in good standing
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience with a law firm and/or in-house
  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts
  • Native or Bilingual Proficiency, Spanish
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism
  • A demonstrated track record of helping underserved communities through pro-bono, non-profit or other similar work and activities


  • High level of analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to solve problems proactively and with business acumen
  • Sound, practical judgment even in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to translate legal requirements into actionable advice
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while contributing successfully to cross-functional teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues and concepts to non-lawyers
