Walker Advertising, a leading and growing legal marketing agency, is seeking a Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy to join the Integrated Marketing Department and is responsible for managing marketing/planning research for traditional, digital and emerging platforms, and development of a cohesive multi-platform marketing strategy.

This position will work closely with marketing leadership to determine how to best combine data-driven strategy and solutions with creative expertise to drive strong results for our in-house brands—Los Defensores, 1-800-Law2 and new brands.

Primary duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with marketing leadership to develop and drive marketing growth strategies;
  • Create strategic analysis around growth opportunities, marketing insights and core business metrics to drive efficiencies, decisions and results;
  • Monitor business performance and present actionable insights to marketing leaders;
  • Conduct Marketing/Consumer/Channel research, track and collect industry trends and competitive analysis to build and inform marketing strategies;
  • Develop competitive analysis and strategy framework;
  • Lead the marketing strategic research and reporting in existing and new geos to help media teams make buying decisions;
  • Research brand audience profiles and provide consumer insights on each brand for overarching marketing strategy;
  • Help identify target demos and behavioral targeting tactics across channels through research to help Traditional and Digital team’s media execution;
  • Lead brand research efforts including ethnographies, focus groups, quantitative/social studies and surveys;
  • Support the creative team with “go to market” communication strategy and market position;
  • Research channel consumption and trends to identify optimal macro marketing mix and budget allocation to meet business objectives and inform marketing leadership;
  • Help create test framework and measurement for channels;
  • Utilize first-party and third-party research data to identify consumer touchpoints;
  • Work with functional leadership to identify market opportunities and brand threats;
  • Identify and actively explore high-potential opportunities; test these and incorporate into a broad acquisition plan;
  • Develop reports to drive decision making in profitable areas for the company;
  • Analyze sales and marketing metrics and recommend optimization of strategy;
  • Forecast market trends, based on historical performance;
  • Work with media buyers and Creative Director to ensure the creative and buys fit the overall strategy;
  • Build data driven insights and sound judgement to help challenge and solve marketing problems.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Math, Statistics or other related fields;
  • Knowledge of Nielsen, Kantar and other research databases are a big plus;
  • Strong Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables, advance functions)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data analysis;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and manage priorities/deadlines;
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and changing priorities;
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically and identify/resolve problems;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill;
  • Experience working with cross functional teams to translate business needs into data requirements;
  • Strong track record of setting and achieving metric driven goals;
  • Strong knowledge of marketing channels;
  • Ability to derive crucial insights from past and current data scenarios and incorporating into current and future marketing strategies;
  • Self-starter, who can work effectively, autonomously and drive strategy;
  • Demonstrate success as a strategic and data driven marketer.
