Walker Advertising LLC. a leading and growing Hispanic legal marketing agency, is looking for a full-time Media Planner & Buyer with direct response experience who will be responsible for planning, buying, executing TV, Radio and Out of Home. Skillset requires minimum 5+ years of planning, media buying, is performance driven, has strong communication and presentation skills. Daily performance management is necessary to optimize campaigns.  Has the knowledge to research and analyze performance data and implement tactical changes, strategies to maximize campaign performance with an ROI mindset. This position will also be responsible for the research and strategy alignment for the overall media plan. Both National, Regional and Local media planning and buying experience is required. Candidate must be forward thinking, proactive and can multi task in a fast-paced environment.

 

Primary duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute media plans
  • Negotiate and buy profitable media time; have working knowledge of buying software Strata/SBMS, and inputting buys, making revisions, pulling reports, etc.
  • Maintaining contacts and great relationship with media vendors
  • Manage Media budget while reaching individual goals
  • Manage and plan campaigns
  • Analyzing and researching the target audience’s character, purchasing and media habits
  • Be an expert on the stations you buy, including trends and demographics of the station
  • Analyze media programs and reports to make quality buys
  • Target market buys based on market research and consumer profile reporting
  • Research consumer behavior, statistics, audience trends, ratings and impressions
  • Based on Critical analysis, recommend strategies to increase brand recognition and maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Research and compile competitive data
  • Develop strategically solid media recommendations with supporting market research rational
  • Call stations for clarification on various issues and resolve discrepancies
  • Review pre- and post-logs
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure clients’ needs are being met
  • Test new markets and time periods, and monitor performance
  • Regularly communicate details about competitors, buys, stations and any research to help Buyers make good buying decisions
  • Optimize our rates with creative media packages, including getting value added
  • Understand Traffic procedures and deadlines
  • Be familiar with priority campaigns and take proactive approach to inform stations
  • Understand what other departments do and how the Media department fits into the company as a whole
  • Understand each station’s restrictive programming per client
  • Understand Media Math (CPO, Ratio, CPC, CPP, CPM ROI, etc.) and know how to build a buy when given such goals as TRPs, CPP, CPM, etc.
  • Supervise media campaigns to ensure goals are being met (budgetary, TRPs, CPO/ratio, CPP, CPM, etc.)
  • Reallocate spending by station/network as needed and work closely with media buyers and directors to proactively manage spending

Requirements/Skills:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience planning and buying TV, Radio and Out of Home Media Buys
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Proficient at problem solving and brainstorming for solutions
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel (i.e. pivot tables, advance functions)
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Math, Statistics or other related fields
  • Knowledge of Strata/SBMS, Nielsen, Kantar and other research databases are a big plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data analysis
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and manage priorities/deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and changing priorities
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically and identify/resolve problems
